March Highlights

In our home, it was definitely March Madness Gladness!  My hubby spoke in 3 different countries - US, Dominican Republic, & Canada and he officiated his brothers' wedding in Texas!  The weekend he was home, he taught a 2-day baptism class at church.  Praise the Lord for His sustaining grace on K to preach the Gospel to so many people and for me and the kids while he was gone. Thank God for helpers!  The Lord was so kind to culminate this busy month by blessing me to join my sweetie on the trip to Canada...what a sweet treat!  Here's a glimpse of our month -

Christian's helper & the kids made this snowman before all the snow melted the 1st week of March.  Even though the snowman is quite cute, I am soooo lovin' that we had a very short Minnesota winter this year.  Sixty & Seventy degree weather in March...unbelievable!

The True Fool

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
Psalm 14:1

On this day that society deems, "April Fools' Day".  Let's take a look at the true definition of a fool.

"The Fool" - the most fundamentally foolish thing in the universe is to deny that there is a God. It is like a living, healthy man denying the existence of his beating heart, or his breathing lungs, thus denying the moment-by-moment warm, red blood flowing inside his body and the fresh air being breathed into his lungs.  He stupidly denies the very source of his life, while simultaneously living off of it.  This is the epitome of a walking contradiction. This is worse than a demon. Even demons acknowledged the reality of God when in the presence of Jesus!  However, the human who has been created in the image of God, yet claims that there is no God, is infinitely worse and wicked—because he denies the glorious reality of the only infinitely wise and worthy Creator God who "gives life, breath and all things" to every living creature (Acts 17.25).

February Highlights

The Shortest but Sweetest Month

Carysse & I made Gingersnap Cookies for our Letter G Week

"Give me a hug buddy, it's your birthday!"

Christian was so excited when we celebrated his 9th birthday with his class.

Happy Birthday My Big Boy!  I Love You!

I really like Valentine's Day!  When I saw these Sweet Heart Pops in my Family Fun magazine, I just couldn't wait to make them with Carysse for our Letter H Week.

 Aren't they cute?!?! Yummy too!

Here's another cute idea from the Family Fun Magazine.
All of Christian's teachers loved their Tea Cup Valentines!

My sweet husband fulfilled one of my cravings again - Bean Quesadillas!  They were so delicious!  I think he also gets 5 stars for the great presentation!

Our 2nd Family - The Hornings babysitting our kids.  They needed this comfy break after putting the kids to bed.By the way, Krista (in the middle) wrote this book!

Celebrate the Progress

My friend Julie at Not Just An Ordinary Life recently wrote a blog post that I just had to share.  Here is an excerpt -

I will hold their hand...and wipe their tears...
I will fight to get them the services they need...
and keep them safe when they rage...
I will walk past the holes in the walls and the broken things and give thanks that I have been given this life...not an easy one, but one worth living...
I will throw out all my "expectations" for my children and see them as God sees them...
I will teach them as we go through out each day..even if I want to just get things done...
I will say I am sorry when I am the one who has the bad attitude..
and I will celebrate with them the successes even when I sometimes wish the accomplishments were bigger and better.

Progress. Around every corner, I can find it if I only look past all the defeat..the struggles...
...and I will celebrate the progress.

Thank you Julie!  This brought much encouragement to my soul today.

January Highlights

Now that we’re half way through February, I think it’s a good idea to share our January highlights.  I know my blog is more like a “cob”website.  My days are so full of helping my hubby, mothering, homeschooling, caring for our home, attending Bible Study, ministry, & the list goes on & on.  So, blogging is definitely not at the top of my list.  However, I realize with that track record I may not have a lot of visitors, but I know I can always count on my mom.J

        1.  Speaking of mom, she lovingly came to help while KT was away with the pastors.  Carysse & Grandma did lots of fun activities together while Big brother was at school & Baby sister was napping.  She relished that undivided grandma time!   Here are some precious pics from her visit.

Making brownies

Playing Candy Land

Making a paper chain

Mom, you're definitely Queen to us!

        2.   The cool pic that my hubby took while at the Pastors’ Week Away.

 3.  Carysse was invited to another Princess party.  It was so fun seeing all the little princesses together.  Here’s a pic of her & the Birthday Girl.

Isn't this a beautiful castle cake!

 4.   Hot BBQ grill with a snow back-drop doesn't seem to go together unless you're a pregnant wife with a super, loving husband!  I was craving some of his special chicken wings; my super hero came to the rescue!

          5.  My sweet girls sporting their cute dresses that their daddy bought.
