Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
I Corinthians 6:9-11

Hard truth! It's written in all of our bibles, but only a few are willing to speak up and defend it. Praise God for the faithful few! For example, read this.

Praise the Lord for your boldness and for John Piper's as well! I love that verse in Corinthians because it always gives me hope when I read the end "and such were some of you". Praise God He can save such wretched sinners as me!
Me too - "Wretched [woman] that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 7:24-25).
I thank God every day that there are still people like Pastor Piper who are faithful to the scriptures.
These days, there are many wanting to water down the harsh reality of sin. Sadly, if we try to gloss over the ugliness of sin, then we also diminish the meaning of the cross.
I want to see the ugliness of my sin so I can appreciate the worth of Christ and the life-changing message of the gospel!
Amen Pamela! Many (including the church) has water down so many sins to the point that they become "acceptable" sins. But God wants us to hate sin as He does. Wow, there's so much that I want to say but it'll be too long for a comment. You may have sparked some ideas for a future blog post :-)!
