I've been pondering what to say in response to the Michael Brown Case/Ferguson Verdict. However, a brother in Christ shared his thoughts and they fit mine exactly! His response was so on target and Gospel-filled that you must read it if you haven't already ~

Hard Truth
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
I Corinthians 6:9-11

Hard truth! It's written in all of our bibles, but only a few are willing to speak up and defend it. Praise God for the faithful few! For example, read this.

A Quote For Such A Time As This
"The question for me at this time is this: Can I continue to live Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God alone) under a President whose moral judgment already is questionable before he takes the oath of office? Yes I can, for I can be obedient to Scripture, praying for the one in authority (1 Tim. 2:1-8), honoring the one in authority (1 Pet. 2:13-18), submitting to the one in authority (Rom. 13:1-7; Tit. 3:1), and seeking righteousness for the entire citizenry (Prov. 14:34). These I will seek to do by grace. I will "honor the good appointment of God."

Unbelievable!

No matter how one voted, all have to admit that this is a monumental moment in U.S. history! The majority of the United States of America voted an African American man to be the next president. My mind still cannot fathom the reality of this. From slavery to presidency...INCREDIBLE! I never thought this would ever be; at least not in my lifetime or even my children's lifetime. My parents grew up in Birmingham, AL. They've shared countless stories of how life was in the deep south during the 60s. Not to long ago, most of this country embraced church burnings, lynchings, spitting on others, water hosing, police dog bitings, segregation, etc, etc, etc. Today, having the same country elect a black man to represent them in the Oval Office...UNBELIEVABLE!
However, as believers, we have total allegiance to our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ not to man. This moment is monumental but no man is our Messiah. We ultimately submit to our Heavenly Father. In submitting to our God, we must submit to whoever He chooses to put in the office.
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. Romans 13:1-2
So, whether today is triumph for you or tragedy, we must honor who God has exalted for His own purposes.
Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor (president). I Peter 2:17

Christ trumps Color!
If you are a believer of Jesus Christ, EVERYTHING you do should represent Him. You no longer live, but Christ lives in you. Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
At the point of salvation, you belong to new family. God is your Father and other believers are your siblings. It doesn’t matter what color you are; that’s obsolete in the body of Christ. When Christ lives in you, He is the One who should govern your thoughts, words, and actions not your culture. He said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment” (Matthew 22:37-38). Christ is serious about our love for Him. How do we love Him? We love God by living according to the truth of His Word (John 14:15).
When we as believers have an opportunity to choose someone to represent us, we should look closely at how well their beliefs and opinions line up with Biblical truths. The decision should never be based on their color.
Christ should trump color in ALL things! Think about that when you’re choosing a mate, a friend, or a church. By the way, be sure to remember that on November 4!

Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. Colossians 3:11
